During this pandemic I have been struggling with my weight. To be clear, its something I've always struggled with, its just that right now I'm hyper focused on it more than ever. Maybe because I was supposed the get married on May 16th (that had to be canceled). Or maybe simply because we are spending so much time at home and I have so much more access to junk food. Either way, I decided to help weigh myself everyday as a way to give myself pats on the back and accountability for what I'm eating.

I know that some women find weighing themselves daily to be anxiety provoking. On the contrary for me it's been very insightful. Its helped me to correlate the way I physically feel and changes in my weight to the meals I ate the day before. For example, I'm learning which foods are making me bloated and hold onto water weight and I'm learning how much the amount of water I drink affects my daily fluctuations in weight.

I was fortunate enough to inherit a Withings Smart Scale from Fatai. I never thought a smart scale worth buying until I got to use this one. What I like most about is how easy it is to use. I was able to set it up on my own in less than 5 minutes and all I have to do is step on it each day. It can tell the difference between me and Fatai, and I read that it can actually differentiate between up to 8 users. Crazy. I have it programmed to measure my weight, body fat, BMI, show a trended graph, and tell me the weather for the day.

Whats awesome is that I can do this and all the information uploads into my phone via the Withings App. It also integrates with my Apple Health, MyFitness Pal and the Nike Run App that I use, without me having to do anything besides give those apps permission. Genius.

I don't want to just lose weight, I want to replace the fat I lose with muscle and reading my body fat percentage is what made me fall in love with this scale. I see it fluctuate daily, but with my hard work with food and fitness it is trending down. That trend is even more important to me than my weight on the scale and I am so so happy this was an included feature.

I would purchase this scale again. Its only $59.95 from on their website, you can find it HERE. I also really like that it isn't another device that I have to plug in or charge. I have enough of those. This scale takes batteries and its been over a year since I started using it, and I have not had to change the batteries. Fatai can't remember the last time he changed them, which means this thing is priceless in a home that is running out of power outlets!

My personal goal is to move down from 32% body fat to 25% and I'm glad that I have something that allows me to easily measure my progress everyday.
